Contributors from an international range of different disciplinary perspectives look at how Latin Americans construct subjectivities, build communities and make meaning in their everyday lives in order to analyse the discourses and cultural practices through which a societal consensus for the pursuit of neoliberal politics may be established, defended and contested.

Daniel Nehring is Associate Professor of Sociology at East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai. He has published widely on the cultural dynamics of neoliberal capitalism Gerardo Gómez Michel is an assistant professor at the institute of Iberoamerican Studies at the Busan University of Foreign Studies, Korea. Magdalena López is a research fellow at the Centre for Comparative Studies at the University of Lisbon, Portugal.
