This study analyses contributions made by Kwame Nkrumah (1909-1972) to the development of pan-African groups from the 1945 Pan-African Congress in Manchester to the military coup d’etat that deposed Nkrumah’s government in February 1966. This study employs an Aftrocentric approach and a synthesis of tools from a variety of disciplines used by scholars in Black Studies and African studies.
