Klaus Sachs-Hombach, Jg. 1957, studierte Philosophie, Psychologie und Germanistik in Münster. 1990 schloss er seine Promotion an der Universität Münster ab, 2003 die Habilitation an der Universität Magdeburg. Seit 2011 hat er die Professur für Medienwissenschaft (Medieninnovation / Medienwandel) an der Universität Tübingen inne. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen der Bildtheorie, Kommunikationstheorie, Medientheorie und Zeichentheorie. Ebenfalls wichtig sind ihm die Bereiche der Ästhetik, der Kulturtheorie und der Geschichte und Theorie der Psychologie und Kognitionswissenschaft. Jan-Noël Thon ist akademischer Mitarbeiter am Institut für Medienwissenschaft der Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen.
