Murray Jackson (1922-2011), licenciado en Medicina por la Universidad de Sydney (1945), se formó y trabajó como psiquiatra en el Hospital de Londres. Su creciente interés por la psicología analítica y el psicoanálisis lo llevaron a formarse también en estas disciplinas. Entre 1972 y 1984 dirigió una unidad del Hospital Maudsley dedicada a la aplicación de los principios psicoanalíticos a los trastornos mentales graves. Profesor y escritor de renombre, es conocido por su aplicación del enfoque psicoanalítico al tratamiento de la psicosis. En 1994 recibió el Premio Life Service Award por su contribución a la psicoterapia de la esquizofrenia de la International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis (ISPS).
