When it comes to facing who we are inside, there is a reason most of us run from the task! It can get a lot worse before it gets better. It’s as if we have an inner child who insists on being heard. Just ignoring him or her will only add to their frustration and then we can spin downward into a deeper spiral feeling misunderstood and isolated.
We need to face things head on, invite the child to speak, and work through what we find.
Quiet moments become the most frightening because at these times we have to face who we truly are inside.
We can be highly functioning leaders and human beings, yet have whole parts of us that are unhealthy and are holding us back from our full potential. I have realised that life is about a journey of facing truth and embarking on the road of healing. However, that healing road is rarely walked without an element of pain.
The Inside Story is my story of life and leadership and where I explore that somewhat perilous journey. I share openly and honestly about issues that lie deep within and ultimately need to surface for us to live boldly and freely. You will find yourself laughing and crying, sometimes at the same time, and relating to the words you read.
After all, my story is just everyone’s story.
