The lakeside town of Reedville was a vacation village for wealthy people since the nineteenth century. However, two strange things were talked about for decades. His first book, The Family Thing, was also published by i Universe in 2004. Like his character Billy Southwaite, Shook has cerebral palsy. Unlike Billy, he has never had a stepsister or met a mermaid. Shook resides in Champaign, IL.
