Erica Fischer wurde 1943 in St Albans bei London geboren, wohin die Eltern aus Wien geflüchtet waren. Sie wuchs in Wien auf und studierte am Dolmetschinstitut der Universität Wien. 1972 war sie eine der Mitbegründerinnen der autonomen Frauenbewegung in Wien. Sie arbeitet als freie Journalistin, Autorin und Übersetzerin. Seit 1988 lebt sie in Deutschland, seit 1994 in Berlin. Ihr Buch »Aimée & Jaguar« wurde zum Weltbestseller.
