Shirlee Kalstone lives in New York, NY. She has been involved with dogs for over 35 years as a groomer, a breeder/exhibitor, the director of one of the first grooming schools in the United States and the organizer of one of the world’s most prestigious grooming competitions and educational conferences. She is the author of 11 books and countless articles about the grooming and health care of dogs and cats. Mrs. Kalstone also wrote a monthly grooming column for Pet Supplies Marketing magazine for over 17 years, and she was the regular grooming columnist for Pure-Breed Dogs: The American Kennel Club Gazette for over 5 years. Her feature articles about grooming have appeared in Dog Fancy, Cat Fancy, Dogs USA, Dogs in Canada, Groom and Board, Groomers Europe and other publications overseas.
