Triumph’s Ashes, Volume 5 in The Cassidy Chronicles, is the concluding volume to the Artemis War arc.

The Terran Federation has definitely gained the upper hand, so much so that Admiral Kendra Cassidy feels comfortable enough leaving the defense of the system in the hands of her deputy, Colonel Davie Whitmore. She and the crew of the TFS Enterprise, including her wife, Commander Aiyana Cassidy, and their daughters, are visiting the Tau Ceti system and investigating the life they’ve found there.

Meanwhile Artemis, now styling itself the Union of Artemis, is desperate.

Their fleet is in shambles. Two of the four members of the Union have switched allegiances to join the Terran Federation. And the Primus’s cousin, Autumn Newling, is leading a revolution.

But you know what they say about rats and corners.

Kendra is about to learn that having the upper hand is not the same as having the winning hand.

And both the Union and the Federation are going to learn there is no triumph without sacrifice; no victory without cost.

One of these two is going down.
