Alyson co-founded the first UK organisation supporting people with Auditory Processing Disorder/APD. As well as currently chairing a new organisation (APD Support UK) to campaign for wider recognition and providing a website of the same name and several online APD support groups, she has written a non-fiction book on Auditory Processing Disorder for children, parents and professionals: « Can I Tell You About Auditory Processing Disorder. » Her second book about APD will be available for publication on 18th March 2021 and can be pre-ordered: « Auditory Processing Disorder (APD): Identification, Diagnosis and Strategies for Parents and Professionals » based on almost 20 years of experience in this area. In 2016 Alyson also began writing supernatural fiction for adults and « The Marlin Chronicles » was born. « Mother of Marlin » is the first novel in the ongoing series which combines supernatural suspense, mystery, horror, crime and romance, historical facts, tears and laughter, and a touch of fantasy.
