While living in India, Ann Zion, author and illustrator, taught English and art. She also instructed handicapped people. Early in life, Ann Zion lived for a period of time in rehabilitation. She was assigned to a rest home in Seattle, Washington, for over one year. There she was required to learn how to move her body with, first, a wheelchair, then using a walker.
