Anne Marie Ryan worked in the Human Resource Development field at a major Big 10 University for many years and worked with at-risk youth for a decade. She is currently the Business Manager of a therapeutic riding facility in Northern Michigan and is still providing programming for at-risk youth. Anne is a midwestern second generation farm owner, a mother and a grandmother. She was raised with strong family values, hard work, and faith. She and her family were plagued with one tragic event after another. The prevailing question was, « How can you survive something like this? » Never intending to be an author, she was asked to write about these events and their outcome. This is that story.
