I lived at Brindabella as a child—the most beautiful place in Australia. Alas, the time came when my correspondence school came to an end, and I was sent to a boarding school in Canberra. I was there for five long years, learning to live with other people, no horse to ride or cows to milk. However, I learnt to live with other people and obey rules. But life goes on. I did a few years at Wagga Base Hospital and then married a wonderful man. We had three daughters and then a son. My grandfather used to write letters to the Sydney Morning Herald and the Canberra Times, which I would ride several miles on my horse to post. Now so many years later, I am able find and read those same letters on the computer.
