Claudia Goldin, geboren 1946 in New York, ist studierte Volkswirtin und seit 1990 Professorin an der Universität Harvard. 2023 wurde sie mit dem Alfred-Nobel-Gedächtnispreis für Wirtschaftswissenschaften ausgezeichnet. Sie erhielt den Preis für die »Aufdeckung der wichtigsten Ursachen für geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede auf dem Arbeitsmarkt«, so das Nobelpreiskomitee in seiner Begründung.
