A propos de l’auteur

Daniel Paul Schreber (July 25, 1842, Leipzig, Germany – April 14, 1911) was a German jurist and writer who became known for describing his own psychotic delusions. Schreber was considered to be very intelligent and lucid, to the extent that he became the president of a court of appeals. However, his intelligence did not prevent him from experiencing severe mental disturbances. When he published Memoirs of My Nervous Illness in 1903, Schreber believed that his work would be a valuable contribution to scientific research. ‘A nervous illness, yes, but not a person suffering from clouded reason… My mind is as clear as anyone else's.’ His objective was achieved, particularly due to Freud's interest in his case and the publication of Freud's analysis in the work The Schreber Case.
