Edgar Rice Burroughs (September 1, 1875 March 19, 1950) was an American speculative fiction writer, best known for his prolific output in the adventure, science fiction and fantasy genres. Ernest Haycox (October 1, 1899 October 13, 1950) was an American author of Western fiction. He published two dozen novels and about 300 short stories, many of which appeared first in pulp magazines in the early 1920s.Clarence Edward Mulford (3 February 1883 10 May 1956) was the creator of the character Hopalong Cassidy and who wrote many works of fiction and nonfiction. Andy Adams (May 3, 1859 September 26, 1935) was an American writer of western fiction.
