His current research fields and activities are the same as Dr. Agresta, and he contributed to the development of guidelines in laparoscopy as well. He authored more than 100 articles in peer reviewed journals and is author of 2 books. Gabriele Anania, MD., is Professor of Surgery at the University of Ferrara, Italy. His surgical activity includes, further to laparoscopy, colo-rectal laparoscopy. He is author of almost 100 papers in peer reviewed journal Carlo Bergamini, MD, is Consultant Surgeon at the Careggi University Hospital of Firenze – Italy. His research activities focus on emergency laparoscopy and endocrine laparoscopy. He has played the expert role in writing guidelines on the topic, and has contributed to many peer reviewed journals; he was also coeditor of some Springer publications.
