In an age of military neoliberalism, social movements and center-Left coalition governments have advanced across South America, sparking hope for radical change in a period otherwise characterized by regressive imperial and anti-imperial politics. Adolfo Gilly (1928-2023) was a professor of history and politics at the Universidad Nacional Aut�noma de M�xico and the author of the classic study La revoluci�n interrumpida (in English, The Mexican Revolution), which was conceived and written while he was imprisoned.
