About the Author
Since retiring from teaching, Gwen Petreman has put her energies into writing children’s stories, poems and primary curriculum materials. She launched her first fantasy story The Blue Bottle in January 2010. She wrote this book to get the message across to young people about the important role trees play in providing a healthier and balanced environment where people and animals can thrive. She is currently serving on the Board for Living Green in Barrie, Ontario where she has been busy researching environmental information for www.livinggreenbarrie.com. She is passionate about eco-friendly gardening and she helped spearhead a tall grass prairie plot in the Barrie Arboretum. She is currently working on a sequel to The Blue Bottle. Like The Blue Bottle this book will consist of a fantasy fiction story followed by relevant factual information.
About the Illustrator
Chris Stone is a Toronto based illustrator that has done work for Owlkids, Sony, Nintendo, as well as scores of music videos, commercials, comics and animated TV series. He can be usually be found making dinosaur noises with his three year old son or (in)frequently blogging at www.eatboots.com.
