Nathan Corbitt was nurtured in the Western North Carolina mountain towns of Highlands, Andrews, Ridgecrest, and Fairview. He graduated from Charles D. Owen High School in Swannanoa and Mars Hill College in Madison County eventually working as high school teacher, church musician, university professor, non-profit leader, and overseas service worker. Corbitt, along with his wife, Vickie, has lived in global urban centers as well as in small U.S. rural communities. He has traveled to over 53 countries. Along the way he has never forgotten his roots in the mountains, and has developed a love for renovating old houses. This is the story of one of those efforts, and his appreciation for nature and the people of the mountains.
