Jamel Du Bois was born in a grassy ditch somewhere along an Arkansas back road, and the adventure could only get better. He left home at age seventeen, crossed the country by rail and tore up his return ticket lest he weaken and return to his father »s house. He joined the Navy, and found that oceans are gateways not barriers. He has hunted a good part of the world, including much of the United States, Canada, Honduras, Spain and Africa, and has recorded those hunts and safaris with articles in Outdoor Life, Southern Outdoors, Western Outdoors, Gun Digest Hunting Annual, and various other guns-and-hunting magazines. He survived some wild adventures including dancing cheek-to-cheek with an irate Cape buffalo in Zimbabwe, and chancing onto a protective mama rhino with her kid in tow, blocking his escape path, in South Africa. He dispatched a wild boar in hand-to-hand combat, and faced down a Cape buffalo in a horn-to-belt buckle encounter. He has set foot in six dozen countries on six continents, and writes killer novels authentically set in Africa.
