We are happy to present to the interested reader a number of well-known poems and one passage out of »Faust« by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in both the German and the English language.
We think that publishing Goethe`s poems in two languages can be interesting for bilingual readers but it may also help language students to gain an insight into the beauty and techniques of poetry by comparing both versions. So this book could be a useful tool at schools and universities.
You will find in this book a poem with a stanza which seems to have been forgotten, when you look it up in the Internet.
A propos de l’auteur
Peter Schulte lives and works as an editor & artist in Kronberg, Germany. Why poetry? We asked him 3 questions about that …
In what do you distinguish yourself?
Sharing well-tried ways with other people, enjoying working with my team and passing on to my readers the commitment we invested in our work; that is what characterizes me and drives me on. Out of such a motivation projects like the songbook consisting of two volumes come into being. It is my main principle that all I turn my attention to I do with great pleasure and fun. That includes the people I work with and live together with.
How do you get your ideas and knowledge?
Similar like the early natural philosopher I gain my ideas from observing my closer environment. Apart from that I let myself inspire by other artists without trying to copy them. Accidental encounters make me grasp ideas I then use as my starting point.
What are you planning to do in the future?
I am working on volume 2 of Storm`s songbook, which shall get published in the first half of the year 2023. Another thrilling project is already in the stage of planning and my team is busy doing the research work. We are greatly enjoying working at it.
