This book presents the proceedings of the 3rd International Joint Conference – ICIEOM-ADINGOR-IISE-AIM-ASEM (IJC2017) “XXIII International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management”, “International ADINGOR Conference 2017”, “International IISE Conference 2017”, “International AIM Conference 2017” and “International ASEM Conference 2017”, which took place at UPV (Universitat Politècnica de València) from July 6th to 7th, 2017.
This joint conference is the result of an agreement between ABEPRO (Associação Brasileira de Engenharia de Produção), ADINGOR (Asociación para el Desarrollo de la Ingeniería de Organización), IISE (Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers), AIM (European Academy for Industrial Management) and ASEM (American Society for Engineering Management).

Consisting of papers on new global perspectives on industrial engineering and management, the book offers an interdisciplinary view of industrial engineering and management. The topics covered include: strategy and entrepreneurship, quality and product management, modelling and simulation, knowledge and project management, logistics, as well as production, information and service systems.

A propos de l’auteur

Josefa Mula is Professor in operations management and operations research at the Universitat Politècnica de València. She is member of the scientific committee of the Research Centre on Production Management and Engineering (CIGIP) in which she has developed R&D Projects in the areas of industrial engineering and operations research & management science. Her key research topics include production planning and control, supply chain management and uncertainty modelling. She has published (in collaboration) more than eighty research papers in a number of leading journals. She has co-authored the books: Supply Chain Simulation: A system dynamics approach for improving performance (Springer, 2011) and Operations Research Problems: Statements and Solutions (Springer, 2014). She is editor of the Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management, International Journal of Production Management and Engineering, Intelligent Industrial Systems and International Journal of Operations Research and Information Systems. 


Rafael Garcia Barbastefano holds a degree in Production Engineering, and a Ph D in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002) . He is currently associate professor at the Celso Suckow da Fonseca Technological Education Centre, Brazil, in the Department of Production Engineering. He is the Scientifc Director of the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO). His interests are focused on Social Network Analysis, Educational Technology, and Operations Management. 

Manuel Díaz-Madroñero is assistant professor in Operations Management and Operations Research at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and member of the Research Centre on Production Management and Engineering (CIGIP). He has participated in several research projects funded by the European Commission, Spanish and Valencian regional goverments and UPV. As a result, he has published more than forty papers, in collaboration, in different indexed journals and international conferences. He has also co-authored the book Operations Research Problems: Statements and Solutions (Springer, 2014). His key research topics include production and transportation planning, fuzzy and robust mathematical programming, multiobjective optimization and sustainable operations management.

Raul Poler is Professor in Operations Management and Operations Research at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), València, Spain. He received his Ph D in Industrial Engineering from UPV in 1998. He is Director of the Research Centre on Production Management and Engineering (CIGIP). He is founding partner of the Spin-off UPV EXOS Solutions S.L. He is Director of the Master in Industrial Engineering and Logistics (MUIOL) at Alcoy Campus UPV. He has led several Spanish Government and European R&D Projects. He has published morethan 300 research papers in a number of leading journals and in several international conferences. He is Director of the INTEROP-VLab and Chair of its Education Committee. He is the Secretary of INTERVAL. He is member of the Executive Board of the Association for the Development of Organization Engineering (ADINGOR). He is the Chair of the Education Activity of the IFIP WG 5.8 Enterprise Interoperability. His key research topics include Enterprise Modelling, Collaborative Networks, Supply Chain Management, Knowledge Management, Production Planning and Control, Decision Support Systems, Evolutionary Algorithms.
