Katy Carlson grew up in Perth, Western Australia. She was an avid lover of nature and the outdoors from a young age (and still is), interested in the smallest of living creatures. Camping in the Australian outback was a big part of her childhood (where ants are plentiful!). She received her Fine Art degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia in 2002. She now resides in San Jose, California and works as a freelance graphic and web designer. In her free time she loves to spend time with Pinto – her dog, cook, travel, hike, drink coffee, draw, write and swim in the ocean.
