As an award-winning author recognized by Toastmasters of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Aparisi has three loves: writing for young people, writing for theatre, and humorous prose. Her work has appeared in the Maryland English Journal, Dawn Is After the Turkey Calls, a play for youth for the United Methodist Church, A Journey with Paul, and Susanna Wesley, a one-actress play in which she appeared in historic churches in Maryland. She worked on a committee to produce La Merienda (The Luncheon), a play presented at the Spanish Governor’s Palace in San Antonio.

Denise Simmons has been married for thirty-seven years and is a mother of four. Living in Converse, Texas, she loves writing and creating stories. This is her first venture in writing a book. Her experience loving four children in a blended family makes her young characters true-to-life and relatable. Both Denise and co-author Mary Aparisi are survivors of attacks by bullies in their teens. They wrote this book with a prayer that Jesus would give a better experience to today’s young people.
