Psychodynamic psychotherapy in older people has developed into a significant clinical field in recent years. The aim of this book is to combine empirical knowledge and practical experience on the topic. Starting from a discussion of the social, developmental-psychology and physical basis of ageing, the current care situation is considered and a detailed description is given of the most important clinical pictures and their treatment. The aim is to take into account not only the younger group of older people, but also to integrate the very elderly into the psychotherapeutic care network to a greater extent.
