Early in the 21st century, the Tyrell Corporation advanced Robot evolution into the Nexus phase – a being virtually identical to a human – known as a Replicant.Replicants were used Off-world as slave labor. Those who escaped to Earth were hunted by Blade Runner units, ordered to kill any trespassing Replicant on detection.In 2022, a Replicant attack on the Tyrell Corporation destroyed all records of existing Replicants and forced the company into bankruptcy.
