Prof. D Rajasekhar, who heads the Centre for Decentralisation and Development at the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore, India, is a Development Economist. With vast experience in social science research, he has been providing policy support to the government, donors, NGOs, etc. He has undertaken many research studies for the government and external agencies such as the World Bank, ILO, GTZ, etc. He was the team leader for a major research study on « Roles of Local Organisations in Development Projects supported by the World Bank. He has published 12 books and over 40 research articles in various journals and edited books.
