Hodgkin lymphoma is the most common haematological neoplasm in young adults. Even though the combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is able to cure a large proportion of patients, these procedures are associated with short- and long-term side effects. Current developments in the treatment of Hodgkin lymphoma are therefore aimed at reducing the treatment intensity for the individual patient. This strategy requires refined diagnostic investigations and good interdisciplinary cooperation. New findings obtained during this step go towards the treatment algorithm. This book summarises knowledge about the pathogenesis, investigation and therapy of Hodgkin lymphoma. In addition, special clinical situations are discussed so that, in the shape of this book, all information relevant to the doctor and patient is available in a succinct form for everyday clinical practice.
