Thomas F. De Frantz is Professor and Chair of African and African American Studies at Duke University, USA, and director of SLIPPAGE: Performance, Culture, Technology, a research group that explores emerging technology in live performance applications. He co-convened the Choreography and Corporeality working group (IFTR) from 2005-2013. Other books: Dancing Many Drums: Excavations in African American Dance,  Dancing Revelations: Alvin Ailey »s Embodiment of African American Culture, and Black Performance Theory. Philipa Rothfield is an honorary staff member in philosophy at La Trobe University, Australia. She has an intermittent dance practice, having worked with Russell Dumas (Dance Exchange) and Alice Cummins (Footfall Ensemble). She is a co-convener of the Choreography and Corporeality working group (IFTR). She is dance reviewer for Real Time Magazine, Momm Magazine, Korea and head of the Editorial Board for the Dancehouse Diary. She is also Creative Advisor for Dancehouse, Melbourne.
