Bernadette H. Hyner has completed her Ph. D. with an emphasis on German and Gender Studies at Vanderbilt University in 2001. As an Assistant Professor of German she taught courses on German language and (business) culture, introductory courses on eighteenth and nineteenth-century drama and narrative, and cross-listed courses on European literature. Her research interests include eighteenth and nineteenth-century travel narratives and fairy tales from German-speaking regions. Bernadette published articles on Sophie von La Roche, Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, Eleonore Thon, Gisela von Arnim, Marie von Olfers, and Marie Timme. She currently conducts research as an independent scholar.Precious McKenzie Stearns has a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of South Florida, Tampa. Her research interests include gender and sexuality, New Woman fiction, travel writing, and modernism. She is a visiting instructor at the University of South Florida and teaches courses in women »s writing, British literature, and professional writing.
