Rachel Zadok: Rachel Zadok was born in Tel Aviv and raised in Johannesburg. She has a National Diploma in Fine Arts. She is the author of two shortlisted novels: Gem Squash Tokoloshe (2005) and Sister-Sister (2013).


Nick Mulgrew: Nick Mulgrew was born in Durban, South Africa. He studied at Rhodes University and the University of Cape Town, at which he is a Mandela Rhodes Scholar in residence. He is an associate editor of Prufrock, the editor of u Hlanga, and a columnist for the Sunday Times.
