Robert Barr (1849–1912) was a British-Canadian novelist and journalist, known for his highly entertaining tales filled with wit, intrigue, and clever plotting. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, and later moving to Canada with his family, Barr eventually settled in England, where he became a teacher and, subsequently, took to journalism and writing fiction.
