As Luck Would Gave It! is a memoir
of Tom de Paolo’s life. It follows his
early years growing up in Hollywood,
California amongst celebrities; to his
stint in the Army Air Force as a photo-
grapher during World War II; and his
marketing career in the advertising
business, television and Disneyland.

Tom de Paolo was born in Hollywood, California. His neighbors included Walt Disney and Cecil B. De Mille. After studying Cinema at the University of Southern California he joined the Air Force and served with a movie crew documenting World War II. He then joined the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency and worked mainly in the television industry on such shows as The Bob Hope Show, Laugh-In, Zorro and the Tennessee Ernie Ford Show. After retiring from JWT he kept up his relationship with Walt Disney and worked as a marketing consultant at Disneyland.
Now retired for good, he lives in Laguna Beach, California where he writes and enjoys golf. He has published four cookbooks and a book on fitness for seniors.
