He is author or editor of eight books, including The Origins of the Urban Crisis (1996) and Neoliberal Cities (2020).Caitlin Zaloom is professor of social and cultural analysis at New York University. Her books include Indebted: How Families Make College Work at Any Cost (2020) and Out of the Pits: Traders and Technology from Chicago to London (2006). She is editor in chief of Public Books.
