Kay was founding director of the Centre for Pentecostal Studies at Bangor University, UK, and is the author of Pentecostalism: A Very Short Introduction (2011) and George Jeffreys: Pentecostal Apostle and Revivalist (2017), as well as numerous academic papers. He is an ordained minister with British Assemblies of God and honorary fellow at the Institute for Pentecostal Theology.
