About the author
Francis Whiting Halsey (1851-1919) was an American journalist, editor, and historian. His magnum opus was the ten-volume Literary Digest History of the World War (1919-1920), an invaluable primary source collection of documents, articles, and photographs. Other works included Two Months Abroad (1878) and Seeing Europe with Famous Authors (1914).
