Franco Ferrari é professor de Direito e Diretor Executivo do «Center for Transnational Litigation, Arbitration, and Commercial Law» da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Nova Iorque. Professor da Universidade de Nova Iorque desde 2010, foi anteriormente professor da Universidade de Tilburg, na Holanda, bem como da Universidade de Bolonha e da Universidade de Verona, em Itália. Publicou mais de 350 artigos, capítulos de livros e entradas de enciclopédias sobre conflito de leis, forum shopping, arbitragem comercial internacional e transações comerciais internacionais. Foi o responsável jurídico do Gabinete de Assuntos Jurídicos da ONU, na Divisão de Direito Comercial Internacional (2000-2002) e é atualmente árbitro internacional ativo em litígios comerciais e de investimento internacionais. É também membro do conselho editorial de várias revistas de Direito Europeu, revistas por pares, coeditor da «Encyclopedia of Private International Law», publicada em 2017, bem como antigo Editor Geral da «European International Arbitration Review».
