This volume provides new, ground-breaking perspectives on the globally renowned work of the Tanztheater Wuppertal and its iconic founder and artistic director, Pina Bausch. Gabriele Klein hat seit 2022 die Professur für Ballett und Tanz (»Hans van Manen Chair«) an der Universität Amsterdam/Niederlande inne. Von 2002 bis 2023 war sie Professorin für Soziologie von Bewegung, Tanz und Performance Studies an der Universität Hamburg. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Kultur- und Sozialtheorie sowie Geschichte von Körper, Bewegung, Tanz und Performance, zeitgenössische Tanz- und Performancekunst, urbane Bewegungskulturen und populäre Tanzkulturen.
