Animal Farm, known at the beginning and the end of the novel as the Manor Farm, symbolizes Russia and the Soviet Union under Communist Party rule. This is a brilliant and insightful story centred on the nature of racism and colonialism in Burma (now Myanmar) in the timeframe after World War I.
