About the author

George William Russell (1867–1935), also known by the pen name ‘Æ, ‘ was an Irish writer, poet, painter, and mystic. He was a key figure in the Irish literary revival and a close associate of W.B. Yeats. Russell’s works often explored themes of spirituality, Irish nationalism, and mysticism. In addition to his literary contributions, he was active in the cooperative movement, advocating for social and economic reforms in Ireland.
