Henry Childs Merwin (1853–1929) wrote biographies of Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr, as well as Road, Track, and Stable: Chapters About Horses And Their Treatment (1892), Dogs and Men (1910), and The Horse: His Breeding, Care, and Treatment in Health and Disease. He co-authored a legal textbook with Benjamin Robbins Curtis.
