Nancy E. Marion, Ph D, professor at the University of Akron. Dr. Marion’s interests revolve around the influence of politics on the criminal justice system. This involves not only how the federal, state and local governments create criminal justice policies and agencies, but also how politics affects how criminal justice is implemented by local, state and federal agencies. She teaches courses on American Government, Politics of Criminal Justice, Policy Problems in Criminal Justice, and Political Scandals. She is the author of many books, including A History of Federal Crime Control Initiatives, A Primer in the Politics of Criminal Justice, and Crime and Criminal Justice in Ohio. She has also published numerous articles in various professional journals on how politics and criminal justice are related. Joshua B. Hill, Ph D, assistant professor of Criminal Justice at The University of Southern Mississippi and a Fellow at the Office of Global Perspectives and Metropolitan Center at the University of Central Florida. He teaches courses in terrorism, homeland security, and criminal justice, particularly focusing on politics and theory within each of these areas. His research interests range widely, from criminal justice to cybercrime, with a particular emphasis on the social and political implications of crime and criminal justice. Dr. Hill previously worked for the Institute for the Study of Violent Groups as a lead analyst. In addition to his current faculty role at the University of Southern Mississippi, Dr. Hill serves as the Master’s Coordinator for the School of Criminal Justice. He is the co-author of Homeland Security in America with Nancy Marion and Introduction to Cybercrime, as well as numerous journal articles and book chapters.
