Part Two discusses the institutional approaches with reference to an analysis of private and public sector housing in Britain, drawing on illustrative material from North America and France to aid the comparative analysis of institutional structures. Part Three is devoted to an evaluation of the Marxist approaches to housing and residential structure from Marx and Engels to Castells and Harvey.
