Kofi Busia holds a BSc (Hons) degree in chemistry and a Ph D in biological organic chemistry from Birkbeck, University of London. He also studied basic medical science at the St. Bartholomew”s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry Queen Mary, University of London. Kofi also holds a BSc (Hons) degree in herbal medicine and a postgraduate certificate in higher education from Middlesex University, UK, where he served as a much-valued senior lecturer in pharmacognosy, herbal pharmacology, herbal pharmacy, and transferrable skills for nine years. He has rare expertise in natural product research, phytochemistry and phytopharmacology, which he increasingly combines with herbal practice. Between 2004 to 2006, he was the external examiner on the herbal medicine degree programme of University of Lincoln, UK. From August 2005 to January 2007, he was a senior lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Ghana. Kofi is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, founder of the Ghana Association of Medical Herbalists, and a past member of the accreditation panel of the European Herbal Practitioners” Association. Kofi is currently the programme officer of traditional medicine at the West African Health Organisation. He currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Herbal Medicine, Integrative Medical Case Reports, African Journal of Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicines, and the Journal of Zheijiang University Science.
