Unlike Saul, David, and Solomon, the great kings of the united kingdom of Israel, their stories are not particularly well known except by Bible scholars and preachers. This book was written to demystify them, to get under their skin and understand what we can of what motivated them, the pressure they were under, and the effect of their reigns on themselves, their nation, and the people they governed.
