B Shawn Clark is an author and amateur poet who works inside a secluded ‘Man Cave’ along Gottfried Creek in the sleepy seaside town of Englewood, Florida. There he claims to have reprised the ways of Thoreau, surrounded by nature and wildlife (not counting those rowdy kids next door). Maxkii-Wiixcheew, the Story of Red-Wolfe, is a fictional account of an historical event taking place in 1663, known as the Second Esopus ‘War’, when the author’s ancestor, having been taken captive by a community of indigenous people known as the Esopus, learned to speak their language.
