This poem was written several years ago and was placed in a file to await an illustrator. Consider the joy when I realized my own daughter, Heather Layne Lewis (ne Smith), would be the very best person to fulfill this need. Her illustrations convey my ideas as if it were me wielding the brush. Funumbers was written for young children to learn the meaning of what the numbers stand for, using bright colors and pictures they can relate to. Bryan Smith is a retired elementary school teacher. His career includes over 30 years in the classroom, most of them in the Fresno Unified School District. He now lives with his wife Florence in the Sierra foothills, where he enjoys golf and geology. He has published another book about the Sierra foothills, featuring the geological history of Yosemite Lakes Park in California.
