He is the author of Tell Everyone: Why We Share and Why It Matters (2014, Double Day Canada) and coauthor of Participatory Journalism: Guarding Open Gates at Online Newspapers (2011, Wiley-Blackwell). A founding news editor of the BBC News website in 1997, he spent 16 years working as a BBC journalist, including four years as a correspondent in the Middle East.
