School Daze and Jonathan Demme’s Academy Award–winning
The Silence of the Lambs.
This volume collects fifteen interviews that illuminate Lemmons’s distinctive ability to challenge social expectations through film and actualize stories that broaden expectations of cinematic black femaleness and maleness.
